Die Rückseite: Stadtrand
The urban-scaled figure of the old city periphery wall of Zürich, a once historical front to the city from the wilderness, is reintroduced into the city of Zürich using architectural scaled elements familiar to the current urban fabric. What was once a rampart of the old wall is now a zebra crossing for pedestrians, once thick walls of stone and masonry are now garden hedges that form a park. All of these new elements connect and are bound into the historical form of the city wall where they build a new cohesive urban figure.
